Queen’s Honor – Betrothal, Book 1 and Quest, book 2 by Mande Matthews

I found this book on Amazon while looking for something new to read. To be honest I didn't even read the little blurb but looked at the cover. This is a very short story from the point of view of a young Lady Guinevere. For a short read with a lot of feeling in it this is a go-to for me. I would've liked it a lot longer but this is great if you only have an hour or less to read. I give them both 5 stars for how well the story is told.

Book 1 Blurb:
Tales of Lady Guinevere.
 Caught between duty and desire
“A masterful mix of romance, legend and magic…”
Lady Guinevere holds the crown to a ancient kingdom. Without brothers to ascend the throne, marriage to her will assure any man the right to rule.
Arthur Pendragon has won his power through battle. His legions have elected him their king and protector but he seeks to legitimize his claim to High King through marrying Guinevere.
Lancelot, a valliant knight with a broken past, is driven by his desire to protect those in need. He’s joined Arthur’s forces because he believes in Arthur’s dream of peace for a war-torn country.
But Lancelot possesses something that Arthur can never win…Guinevere’s heart.
QUEEN’S HONOR is told from the point of view of a young Guinevere as she is caught between the responsibility of her crown and the desires of her heart. The fantasy romance is imbued with celtic lore and magic, putting a fresh spin on an age-old tale of love and honor.

Book 2 (my mini)Blurb: This is the second book for Queen's Honor and is when Lady Guinevere joins her new husband in Camelot.

Sentence of Marriage (Promises to Keep) by Shayne Parkinson

To be honest this book was pretty slow and depressing for me, but I also loved it. It doesn't hold a fantasy, everything always has a happy ending story line, but a very real and factual line. It did start out slow for me and then it picked up a little ways into the story. There is a depressing air around the entire story with some happy. You have to understand something first though, not everything has a happy-go-lucky story. There are real people who can relate to this story and we shouldn't act as if the things in this story can't or won't happen. I did buy the second and third book. In those books the slow and depressing feeling stays. You have to look at this book objectively in order to enjoy it. The characters are well developed and there is a good story line. These books aren't for everybody so keep in mind that you may or may not like them. I give it 4 stars.

The Bloodletter's Daughter (A Novel of Old Bohemia) by Linda Lafferty

Wow! This book was amazing. If you want a book you can crawl into and feel what the characters feel this book is perfect for you. Linda Lafferty builds a world around you and her characters in a way that makes you want to cry when they cry, rejoice when they rejoice, and love when they love. The entire book will leave you breathless and wanting more. It is a world you can truly imagine and feel a part of. I give it 5 stars.
